      <image:title>Imaginate Ink - how kindness launched a star</image:title>
      <image:caption>When Stephanie was eleven, she learned her beloved pony Winnie had to be put down. To find solace, Steph looked among her things for photos of Winnie so she would have something to remember him by, which is when she realized she didn’t have any. To prevent other little girls from going through the same thing, Steph started taking equestrian pictures, and a year later she was so skilled the adult photographers at the equestrian competitions felt threatened and shut her business down. Steph is so kind-hearted she emailed the pictures she took for free to her clients, which is when she got discovered by magazines and national media outlets. Stephanie donated all the proceeds of her business to a Guatemalan orphanage. You can read more about Stephanie’s amazing story here.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Imaginate Ink - the bird that launched the artist</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tony’s journey began with a photograph—of a amber-breasted starling with iridescent blue wings, lifting off from a field of golden grass in Botswana. At 13 when he took the picture, he never knew that over the next few years, he would become like this bird, and that one photograph would burgeon into a passion for bringing people’s stories and hearts to life with his camera. Despite at first getting rejected from photographing shelter pets because he was “too young to volunteer,” Tony won the shelters over by showing them his award-winning work, and to date, he has saved hundreds of shelter pets’ lives with his camera. Tony has moved onto filming people, and the stories he tells with his camera are so moving they have transformed his subjects’ lives. See his amazing demo reel here.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Imaginate Ink - the unexpected activist</image:title>
      <image:caption>When Carter was in 8th grade, he came across an online photo showing a boy drinking out of a muddy puddle of water beside a goat. Horrified, he decided to do something. After years of drives, selling books he created, and crafting a campaign about how you could be a superhero for $15, Carter raised $60,000 and won grants and awards from Pepsi, Disney, Hasbro, and the Montage for his humanitarian work. After giving his first TED talk, Carter has transformed into a confident speaker and has given talks to ten thousand students thus far. Read about how you can help here.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Seven Imaginate Ink Kids Speak at TED - Elizabeth, 15</image:title>
      <image:caption>Elizabeth, Founder and Chief Baker of Piggalicious bacon s’mores, admits that the weirdest thing about her is that she likes vegetables, including, but not limited to: cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, asparagus, and carrots. Currently, she is writing a series that involves her house getting kidnapped by aliens with her brother inside. At first, Elizabeth thinks it’s the best thing that ever happened to her, but then realizes that now she’ll have no one to torment. As for hobbies, she enjoys smashing balls on the tennis court and playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl with her brother. However, she always loses. Besides tennis, you will most likely find her traveling the world with her orchestra, performing everywhere from Santiago de Compostela to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. She is a nationally published gold medalist poet after being the only young person in the nation last year to win Scholastic’s creative writing award for social issues, in which she wrote about the Taliban acid gun blinding of Afghan schoolgirls in Kandahar. Elizabeth’s fondest wish is to one day own a dog of her own, but all her mom says is, “When you’re older, you can pay for your own.” Elizabeth hopes one day to sell enough cookies to buy a dog. Donations gladly accepted. Elizabeth spoke at TEDxYouth@Electric Avenue 2013. Watch her here.</image:caption>

Now, Eddie is a NY architect where he designs buildings for both Google and Scholastic, the latter of whom honored him at Carnegie Hall as a teen. And when Google couldn't find art for their SF HQ mural, guess who created it? See Eddie standing proudly beside his Google Mural here.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>As a teenager, Steph used her love of photography to reveal the beauty in others. In fact, this picture that she took of her friend lying in a hammock launched her friend's Paris modeling career. Her friend didn't like her freckles, but Steph thought they were beautiful. It was lifting up others and pursuing the kind of excellence that creates beauty that helped Steph gain admission to both Princeton and Duke, and upon graduation from the latter, Steph turned her artistic skills to designing VR for Facebook. Now, she designs self-driving cars for GM's Cruise.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Imaginate Ink Alumni - The Elizabeth that could</image:title>
      <image:caption>When Elizabeth was seven, her mom enrolled her in creative writing classes against her wishes! Elizabeth was confused about why she was there until Clarissa found out Elizabeth loved writing about how her older brother got kidnapped by aliens, leaving her with sole control of the TV remote. As Elizabeth practiced, she became better and better at this one subject she formerly disliked until she ended up winning an adult writing contract from the L.A. Times and won the only award Scholastic gave her year for writing about a social issue. Elizabeth then started her own Piaggalicious cookie company, which features homemade pig-shaped graham crackers, Scharffen Berger chocolate, and artisanal marshmallows for a delicious Piggalicious bacon s'more. Elizabeth ended up doing a TEDx talk about how a cookie changed her life and getting into Princeton. At Princeton, she put on her own TED conference, was elected President of her eating club (Princeton's Greek system), is majoring in design empathy and entrepreneurship, and hopes to one day become a CEO. Maybe of a large cookie company.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Emagination Island - clarissa’s dream</image:title>
      <image:caption>…is to bring this personal, cause-based education system she developed with her students to the world to change education everywhere. Currently, our K-12 education system is based on what was invented 200 years ago for the Industrial Age to turn out cookie cutter kids who were taught to wait for directions, to solve a problem only one way, and to be interchangeable cogs in a machine. Is it little wonder that school is failing so many of our kids? And that a system designed to celebrate only ONE kind of intelligence has left our children thinking they are dumb when they are not?</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Emagination Island - AS the late Sir Ken</image:title>
      <image:caption>Robinson said in his celebrated TED talk, "Do Schools Kill Creativity," we bewail wasting natural resources, but worse still is to waste our human resources. We do this every time we put our children through a school system that fails to recognize that there's more than just IQ when it comes to intelligence. There are kids who create visual art that move us, kids who have a natural affinity for dance, kids who are great with people, and so much more. We need to celebrate all these kinds of intelligences so we do not make our kids think they are dumb when they are not.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Emagination Island - for 23 years</image:title>
      <image:caption>…with her students, Clarissa has quietly built her personalized, cause-based education method. She has never advertised and works primarily through word-of-mouth alone. Eight of her students have given TED talks, while others founded charities with global impact and multinational businesses that lift up the world by putting people over profit. They win James Beard awards, become surgeons, develop VR for Facebook, and design self-driving cars. They become young people who are lighthouses with the heart and tools to help the world. As education is the universal panacea to all our world's ills, what she would really like to do is bring Emagination Island to the world.</image:caption>
